more Info

info Participating in a Hoelloch tour means immersing yourself in to another world:

Along the 7 hour expedition to "Wasserdom", we follow the immense main corridor up to the huge hall. From there we ascend to "Dombiwak" where we stop for a break. After that we will take a look at "Wasserdom" – a 30 meter high underground waterfall. There we will also see the "Niphargus" – the small freshwater amphipod. These animals usually inhabit caves or groundwater. From there we gradually make our way back.

Along the 9 hour expedition to "Glitzertor", and after reaching "Dombiwak", we have a further 2 hours to explore other fascinating corridors. For example we reach "Schlange" (snake) – another Hoelloch highlight – a 300 meter natural slide that is immense fun! From there we enter in to "Aeolsgang" leading us to the legendary huge hall and from there we gradually make our way back.

These demanding tours are led by professional, SSH (Schweizerische Schule Hoehlenbefahrungen Hoelloch) certified cave guides only. SSH, a cave guide and explorer training center, equips participants in demanding courses for their future leadership role as guides.

Please note: do not enter the cave with your travel clothes. Travel clothes and other items such as kit bags, toiletries, handbags, etc. are to left in cars or at the Hoelloch restaurant. At the restaurant there are changing rooms available. If you do not want to hire cave explorer protective overalls, then please ensure that you have clothes that are robust enough to endure wear & tear. Ideal are: thermo vest, thin polo neck jumper, overalls or old jeans / trousers, pullover / thermal fleece jacket, thick socks. Not suitable are track suits, rain shields, etc.
