Experience Hoelloch Surface: rocks have stories to tell – if you know how to read them. During the informative tour along one of the world's largest cave systems, you will hear all about the fascination of earth's history, caves, water and habitat.
In this rocky environment we are on the tracks of witch's herbs, Alpine spirits, the Hoelloch devil and General Suvorov. The tour leads us through impressive karst landscapes in the Silberen and Boedmeren Region above one of the oldest European primeval forests with over 250 kinds of fern.

	Karst hike tours are normally carried out between June and October.
	Group Size
	Minimum group size: 10 people. Less than 10: minimal charge applies. Maximum group size: 100 people.
	Venue / Meeting Point
	For all karst area tours: Hoelloch Center in Muotathal. From there a transfer will take you up to Hoelloch Oberflaeche from where the tour starts (except short karst hikes - these start just next to the Hoelloch Center; no transfer required)

Requirements

	Prerequisites
	The programme is designed that everyone can participate. No prior knowhow necessary. A normal physical fitness level, as well as a certain degree of joy and interest in nature is beneficial.
	What to Bring
	Mountain or Trekking Boots, Hiking Attire, Rain Shield, Sun Shield, Hat, Cap. Depending on the duration: Refreshments, Snacks (Lunch) in a rucksack.

 Silberen is a mountain top at Pragelpass and as such gives its name to the protected area. The name derives from the clear bare rock colours and it is here that we can see the famous Karren fields.

This is a unique karst landscape and the only one in Switzerland that shows all intermediate levels, be they bare rock, compact covers of vegetation, and sub Alpine forest. A specific characteristic is the Karren field – the largest in Switzerland.

Come and experience unspoiled nature and mysterious caves deep down. Not only is secretive Hoelloch with its wonders in eternal darkness unique. The whole of the immense Hoelloch area is unique. On Hoelloch Oberflaeche you will find old ferns, rocky karst areas, natural paths, gnarled tree trunks, and you would not be surprised when all of a sudden gnomes and pixies start waving to you through the leaves.

Possible Programme
Morning: Hoelloch ½ day excursion
Lunch in the cave or by the Hoelloch Zenter stream
Afternoon: Karst Hike in Silberen area

Should time be insufficient for the daily programme – why not opt for the Hoelloch Short Tour including the Karst Geological Trial? Explore the cave system – both below and above ground. You start with a short karst geological hike. Immediately, at Hoelloch, we have a karst landscape and we can view the famous "Charren". Our experienced guide will fill you in with everything that you need know about this charming landscape. In addition, you will enjoy spectacular views in to Bisis Valley. After that we go into the cave for the Hoelloch Tour and maybe a Cave Cocktail Reception or even a light lunch in the cave.
