FURTHER INFORMATION

This cave system in the area of the Solothurn Jura holds real adventures for you. The entrance is situated 1274 m a.s.l. and good weather provided, the view from there is pure joy! Marvel at the mountain ranges of the Bernese Oberland with the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in all their splendour before we step through the entrance gate and dive into the underworld.

The “Nidlenloch” – loosely translated “cream pit” – possibly named this way due to its white limescale (Mondmilch – moon milk) – is with its 8 km length one of the biggest cave systems in the Jura region. The cave is under protection and evolved from the melt water of the receding glaciers over about a million years. The “Nidlenloch” is mostly dry and of alpine character.

All our cave guides are SSH certified and look back on to many years of experience in this cave.
